Dustin Davisson - Principal
It is my pleasure to introduce myself as your Principal of Canyon High School. I am extremely humbled and honored to be leading a campus where all stakeholders are committed to supporting and providing a rich educational environment. I am beginning my 23rd year in education. I came to Comal Independent School District in 2016, where I spent two years here at Canyon High School as the Academic Dean. I then spent two years as the Principal at Mountain Valley Middle School. This will be my fourth year leading Cougar Nation as the Principal! It is my commitment to each of you to foster a school culture and climate where every child feels safe, connected, and prepared for their future. Courtney Woodrom - Academic Dean 
I am currently in my fifteenth year of education and my eleventh year at Canyon High School. I taught English for seven years and then moved into Administration in 2019. I was raised in Flower Mound, Texas and I lived there until we moved to New Braunfels in 2012. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of North Texas and my master's degree in educational leadership from Lamar University. I have been married to my husband, Kyle, for 20 years and we have three children, Emarald, Paige, and Parker. I am excited to continue to serve our beloved Canyon High School. Nicole Morris - Assistant Principal (A-Da)
This will be the beginning of my 26th year in education, and in Comal ISD. The majority of my teaching career was spent as the Special Education Department Head at Church Hill Middle School. I have also served as an ARD Facilitator on a few of our elementary campuses. This year will be the start of my sixth year as Assistant Principal at CHS. I've been married to my husband, Bill, for twenty-five years and all three of our sons have graduated from Canyon HS. I am blessed to be a part of Cougar Nation. Joshua Lawyer- Jefferson - Assistant Principal (De-Hi) 
I am entering my thirteenth year in education and my third year in administration. I have spent that last 7 years of my career in Comal ISD at Danville Middle School and Canyon Middle School. Prior to becoming an administrator , I taught 6th grade Science and World Cultures, Texas History, US History and Resource ELA. I also coached football, basketball, soccer, and track. My wife, Megan, and I have three children: Lucas (4), Lincoln (3), and Lillian (7 months). I received my undergraduate degree at The University of Texas at Arlington and Masters of Science in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University. Aimee McCarty - Assistant Principal (Ho-Mon)
I am entering my 8th year in education and my 4th year in administration. I was born & raised right here in New Braunfels & I am a graduate of Canyon High School! Prior to moving into administration, I was a science teacher & coach here in Comal ISD. I received my undergraduate degree from Texas State University and my master’s degree in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from The University of Texas at Arlington. My Husband, Justin, and I reside here in New Braunfels with our 2-year-old daughter & newborn son. I am excited to be returning to work in my own community and to be back home in Cougar Nation. Rene Armendariz - Assistant Principal (Moo- R)
Campus Behavioral Coordinator
I am going on my thirteenth year in education, and I have had the good fortune to be a part of Canyon High School or Canyon Middle School for all those years. Prior to this position, I have enjoyed coaching football, basketball, softball, and track at the middle school and high school levels. Now, I am elated to be able to work with our students in my capacity, as a CHS administrator. My wife, Stephanie, and I were raised here in New Braunfels and we have continued to reside in this wonderful city with our four children. Ashleigh Owen - Assistant Principal (S-Z)
This will be my thirteenth year in education and my eighth at Canyon High School. I taught English for ten and a half years, and I spent one and a half years as the CHS 504 Coordinator. I am from Boerne, TX but call the New Braunfels area home. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and my master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. I have been married to my husband, Steven for almost six years. We are active in animal rescue and have many furry children. I am excited to continue to serve Canyon High School.
