English 4
English 4 students complete written compositions on a regular basis, using the conventions and mechanics of standard written English and produce final, error-free drafts. Students write in a varietyof forms, including business, personal, literary and persuasive texts. STudents read extensively in multiple genres from British and other world literature while interpretingpossible influences on teh historical context. English 4 AP This college level course prepares students to take the AP Literature and Composition exam for possible college credit. Critical and creative thinking skills are developed through the readding and in-depthanalysis of literature through reqquired reading, discussions, essays, and exams. Students examine literary works and analyze elements in relation to the contemporary experience and the times in which they were written. Summer reading is required. Students are expected to take the AP Literature and Composition Exam at teh conclusion of the course.
