Physics
In Physics, students will conduct laboratory and field investigations that have practical applications in today's world. This course provides students with a conceptual framework, factual knowledge, and analytical and scientific skills. Topics include: laws of motion; changes within physical systems and conservation of energy and momentum; force; and characteristics and behavior of waves. Pre-Advanced Placement (Pre-AP) Physics is an advanced course recommended for students with a strong interest in science and good study skills. In Pre-AP Physics, students conduct laoratory and field investigations throughout the year. Many of the concepts are the sameas those in Physis, except the presentation is more accelerated and in more detail. AP Physics B - This college level course prepares students to take the AP Physics B exam for possible college credit. Physics B is a non-calculus based course in which mechanics; thermodynamics; fluis; electricity and magnetism; waves and optics; and atomic and nuclear physics are investigated. Laboratory techniques are developed to further students' ability to pursue a career in an engineering or physics-related field. Students are expected to take the Advanced Placement Physics B Exan at the conclusion of the course. AP Physics C - This college level course prepares students to take the AP Physics C exam for possible college redit. Physics C is designed for student who inted to major in math, physics, or engineering. This is calculus based course whichemphasizes an intensive study of mechanics, electricity andd magnetism. laboratory techniques are developed to further students' ability to pursue a career in an engineering related field. Students are expected to take the Advanced Placement Physics C Exam at the conclusion of the course.
