The Comal Independent School District named Mr. Matthew DeLoach, current Canyon Middle School principal, as principal of Davenport High School. DeLoach will assume his new position beginning this school year in preparation for Davenport’s opening for the 2020-21 school year.
DeLoach comes to DHS with three years as principal at CMS. Prior to that position, he was the Academic Dean and Assistant Principal at Canyon Lake High School from 2014-2016. He has a bachelor’s degree in Social Studies Education from The Citadel and a master’s degree in Secondary Education Administration.
Davenport High School is located on FM 3009 in Garden Ridge and will open for the 2020-21 school year. The project is currently on schedule and on budget.
In addition to DeLoach’s move, Mr. Ernie Reynolds, Canyon High School Assistant principal, has been named Canyon Middle’s new principal beginning this coming school year.
Reynolds comes to CMS with 15 years in education, three years as Assistant Principal at CHS. He has a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Angelo State University, and a master’s in Education Administration from Texas A&M University – Commerce.
