The Cougar and Hawk Cheer teams represented Comal ISD in the UIL Spirit State Championships and came home with a few trophies.
The Canyon High School cheer team competed in the 6A UIL Spirit State Championships Jan. 16-18, in Ft. Worth and placed fifth out of 72 teams in the State Championship Round. The squad also brought home third place in Crowd Leading, seventh in Fight Song and third in Band Chant.
The Canyon Lake High School cheer team competed in the 4A UIL Spirit State Championships, Jan. 16-18, in Ft. Worth and placed sixth overall out of 84 teams. The Hawks also placed second in cheer, fifth in fight song and sixth in band chant.
