Introduction and About Me

About Me

Hello there! I'm excited to work with you this semester. On this page, you will find information about your/your student's class.

I've been a teacher since 2014, and have taught social studies at the middle school, high school, and college level. I love my job because I really like working with students and talking with them. It gives me hope for the future! I like coffee, travel, and rescuing spiders and snakes that find themselves in strange predicaments.

I'm really into philosophy (especially Wittgenstein, Plato, Michael Sandel, and, of course, John Rawls!) As for music, TV, movies, books, etc: it's an eclectic mix. You might find me listening to Rosalía, or Tchaikovsky, or CHVRCHES, or Phoenix, or Queen depending on the day. I'm into Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, and really enjoy Abbott Elementary. Octavia Butler and Ted Chiang are some of my favorite authors, though my all-time favorite book might just be Rudolfo Anaya's "Bless Me, Última."

Communication

Assignments will be communicated digitally through Google Classroom (Dual Credit Federal Government students will use Canvas, which is linked in Google Classroom).

I will communicate with you via ParentSquare, but am available through email. Additionally, I am happy to meet in person, as well. Reach out to me and we will set up a time to meet!

Courses

For more information about a specific course, navigate to that course's page. If you are a freshman (9th grade), that course is Pre-AP World Geography (AP Human Geography is an elective course for 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students; please talk to me if you/your student are interested in this course!)
