Welcome to AP Literature! Seniors, congratulations on choosing the advanced English program. This course will challenge and prepare you for college-level reading, writing, and analysis. We will read widely across genres, study literary criticism, poetry, and nonfiction, and write daily both in class and at home to evaluate, explain, and understand.

  • Daily Grades (20%) – Classwork, activities, homework

  • Quiz Grades (30%) – Announced or unannounced quizzes

  • Major Grades (50%) – Exams, projects, essays, research

  • Pens: blue/black plus other colors for emphasis (writing must be in pen)

  • College-ruled notebook paper

  • Notebook, folder, or 1-subject spiral with pockets

  • Highlighters, map pencils, or markers (you NEED colors!)

  • Copy of the current class novel/play (bring daily)
  • Sticky notes (optional)
