GRATEFUL DADS

 

Purpose: 
The mission of the Grateful Dads is to be an Active, Visible, and Positive male role model within Canyon High School and the community.

  • Model and teach our CHS students to make eye contact and respond with a warm smile and a "Good Morning." 
  • Allows students to see the caring nature and male support of our community as they enter school.

 

Duties: 
Devote 1 Friday or more a month during a school year to greet the students of CHS from 8:15 – 8:55 at designated school entrances.

8:00-8:15     Initially upon entering the campus, please sign-in at the Front Office and get your volunteer badge. The Grateful Dads Coordinator or a campus representative will be there to greet you.  You will pick up your t-shirt and be assigned an area of the school to meet students.

8:15-8:55     Meet and greet the students entering the school from your assigned station. Be creative but most importantly have fun!!

8:55             Go to the Front Office and sign out.  Then head out for the rest of your day!

FAQ:

Who can enlist? Any male over the age of 25 (Dad, Brother, Uncle, Grandparent, Businessman, CHS Supporter)

Is there any money involved? No Dues or Fundraising involved – just a few minutes of your time to greet students.

Is there a Background Check? CISD requires all volunteers to participate in a background check.  The form can be found on the district website:  https://www2.comalisd.org/Volunteer/Volunteer_Form.asp  You fill out a form and we do the rest!
