TIMELINE FOR SENIOR YEAR CLASS OF 2022

June
❖ June 3- Parent meeting 6:00 pm

July
❖ July 1 ~ Apply Texas Opens - applytexas.org – Texas Public Colleges
❖ This is a good time to get the Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination if you have not had one in the last 5 years. You will need this for college.

August
❖ August 1 ~ The Common App Opens – commonapp.org – More than 800 diverse colleges and universities use this application. TAMU application opens.
❖ August 28 - SAT

September
❖ September 11 - ACT
❖ September 29th - Comal ISD College, Career and Military Fair

October
❖ Apply for financial aid on October 1st using your 2020 tax return (everyone must apply) www.fasfa.ed.gov – Application is100% free
❖ October 2nd - SAT
❖ Continue working on college applications & researching scholarships
❖ Ask people who know you well for recommendation letters. Ask for letters 2 -3 weeks in advance, and do not wait until the last minute. Provide a resume or a letter of recommendation form found at the back of this packet to the person writing your recommendation letters.
❖ October 23rd - ACT
❖ October 27th -ASVAB
❖ TSI testing will be available

November
❖ November 6th – SAT
❖ Submit applications for early decisions.
❖ Continue working on college applications. BE AWARE OF DEADLINES! Many schools have December 1 deadlines for admissions and scholarships.

December
❖ Discuss your second semester schedule with your counselor!
❖ December 4th – SAT
❖ December 11th – ACT
Remember CHS will be closed for the Christmas Break. Before you leave for the break, request all transcripts, recommendation letters, and any ACT/SAT registration information. Also, remember colleges are closed for Christmas Break. Make sure you take that into consideration in meeting your deadlines!!

January
❖ Review your 7th semester transcript in order to ensure that it is correct. Top 5%, Top 10% and Top 15% are decided from this rank
❖ KEEP YOUR GRADES UP!! Some acceptances are contingent upon successful completion of the second semester.
❖ Continue to visit the College and Career Advisor, Mrs. Robin Conger, and check for scholarship and college opportunities in the College and Career Resource Center!
❖ Listen for morning announcements and check out the Cougar Connection and monthly College, Career and Counseling newsletter and the Google Classroom to make sure you have up to date information.
❖ Local Scholarship Packets will go out in Mid-Late January. Be sure to apply!

February
❖ February 12th – ACT
❖ February 17th - ASVAB
❖ Check admission decision due dates and applicable fees.
❖ Continue to check for college and scholarship opportunities in the College and Career Center.
❖ LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP PACKETS DUE MID FEBRUARY (exact day and time tbd)

March
❖ March 12th – SAT

April
❖ April 2nd – ACT
❖ April 27th-ASVAB
❖ Respond to college acceptance notices.

May
❖ May 7th – SAT
❖ AP Testing
❖ Final Exams
❖ Attend required CHS Senior events & meetings to ensure you can participate in graduation.
❖ Request to have your final CHS transcript sent to the college of your choice by filling out the CHS Final Transcript Request Form. Final transcripts will be mailed to colleges by mid June 2022
❖ For any Dual Credit courses, you must request a college transcript from St. Phillips be sent to the college you will be attending. Instructions are available by logging into your ACES account.
❖ Write "Thank You” notes for local scholarships you were awarded.
❖ Do not forget to say thank you to your parents, teachers, counselors, administrators, and others who have helped you through your college selection process.
